Hacienda San Juan's experienced guides organize the shooting in the traditional style. The shooting location is determined only after very thorough scouting of the birds during the previous days by our experienced, full time hunting scouts. Hacienda San Juan's, nearby fields of sunflowers and grain attract White-Winged Dove in such numbers, it is hard to imagine if you have not experienced it before. Everyday, early, millions of birds pour out of their roost and fan out across the countryside. As the birds flood into the fields, the shooting is remarkable…..quick and exhilarating. Your personal "bird-boy" races to retrieve the downed birds and to make certain you do not run short of essentials, such as ammunition and cold drinks.

At Hacienda San Juan we only recommend using Benelli Shotguns because of their time tested trouble free operation and low recoil. That is why we offer for your enjoyment, Benelli Super 90's in both 12 and 20 guage, all with extended shell magazines. Don't bother with bringing your guns, just make reservations to use ours and save time at the border when crossing into Mexico.

Quail Hunting (December thru February)

Many hunters seem to forget that Mexico offers some of the finest bobwhite quail hunting in North America. Our Hunter groups are limited to 2-3 hunters, typically utilizing only 2 dog teams. We consistently average 25 coveys of birds over our dogs. Due to our consistent rainfall, few predators and minimal hunting pressure, our clients enjoy these numbers, day in and day out. Dogs are always rotated on a regular basis to allow the dogs plenty of rest. Of course, personal dogs maybe used and Hacienda San Juan will furnish kennels and feeding at no charge.
